protection-of-the-workforce

RFTA’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan is
focused on three primary goals:

  1. Protection of the workforce

  2. Protection of passengers

  3. Continuity of service

SUMMARY OF CHANGES MADE TO MEET THESE GOALS:

  • Fogging vehicles with virucide every day before service, and facilities regularly;
  • Closing down the lobby and restroom in our primary transit station; closing all public restrooms;
  • Instituting back door loading and deboarding for passengers,
  • Created social distancing space for bus operators on buses;
  • Instituted social distancing procedures within the buses for passengers and providing backup buses to handle the overflow when buses reached the social distancing limit on each bus;
  • Suspending cash fare collection to minimize interactions between Bus Operators and passengers;
  • Require use of PPE for both drivers and passengers;
  • Creating daily check in procedures for employees; and
  • Creating “sneeze” guard barriers for our drivers to allow front door loading and fare collection gain.
