Title VI Notice to the Public
The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, or national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Anyone who believes they have been excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination under any RFTA program or activity because of their race, color, or national origin may file a discrimination complaint with RFTA or the Federal Transit Administration. Language Access Plan
RFTA is committed to providing meaningful access to equitable, timely, and quality language assistance services to individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) so that all members of the RFTA jurisdictions can obtain current information regarding the work RFTA performs and the services it provides. These services include:- Spanish Translations: RFTA provides Spanish translations of public notices, board agendas, news releases, service schedules, posters, and flyers through certified staff and tools.
- Bilingual Customer Service: Spanish-speaking agents are available by phone, online, and at public hearings with advance notice.
- Spanish-Language Support: Ticket Vending Machines, the Mobile Tickets App, and the website offer Spanish-language instructions and navigation.
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)
It is the policy of RFTA to comply with all the legal requirements of federal and state laws and regulations as they pertain to individuals with disabilities. If state and federal regulations are contradictory, the federal ADA regulations prevail. RFTA provides quality transportation services without discrimination to all persons including individuals with disabilities. Discrimination on the basis of disability against any person by RFTA employees will not be condoned or tolerated. Persons with or without a disability may file a complaint under the ADA. Reasonable Modification Policy
Passengers whose disabilities require changes to RFTA policies or practices can request a reasonable modification by contacting the Title VI Compliance Officer, and RFTA will work with them to find an appropriate accommodation. Requests may be denied only if they fundamentally alter services, pose a safety risk, or are unnecessary, but RFTA will still seek alternative ways to provide access whenever possible.
