CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 RFTA Service Update

City of Aspen free shuttles have service hour reductions effective MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2020.

  • The Cross Town Shuttle, Galena and Highlands Direct have all previously ceased operation.
  • All remaining Aspen routes will offer more reduced evening hours:
    • Burlingame – 7:35am-8:20pm
    • Castle Maroon – 8:00am-8:00pm
    • Cemetery Lane – 8:00am-8:00pm
    • Hunter Creek – 8:00am-8:00pm
    • Mountain Valley – 8:15am-7:45pm

The City of Aspen offers free shuttle routes that will take you to the office, the trail head, the ski lift and to everything else Aspen has to offer. Click on the route below to find details, times and running dates.

The Hunter Creek bus serves the residential area of Hunter Creek, providing access to grocery shopping and Aspen’s Post Office. Also travels near the popular Smuggler Mountain trail.

The Cemetery Lane bus travels from Rubey Park to the Cemetery Lane residential area.

Inbound: Departs Red Butte Drive at :12 and :42

The Castle Maroon bus provides service from town to Maroon Creek Road and Castle Creek Road serving Aspen Valley Hospital, Aspen Highlands Village and the Aspen Recreation Center.

The Burlingame transit route provides service from Rubey Park to the Burlingame Ranch housing complex via Hwy 82. This route is a convenient option for reaching the Aspen Golf Course or Buttermilk Mountain.

Route Note: This bus connects with down valley buses via the Buttermilk stop on Hwy 82.

Dial-a-Ride serves the Mountain Valley residential area on a fixed route free of charge. Provides door-to-door service in this area for $1.

GALENA STREET SHUTTLE service has suspended effective TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2020

Galena Street Shuttle travels continuously from the Rio Grande Parking Garage to the Silver Queen Gondola at Aspen Mountain.

CROSS TOWN SHUTTLE service has suspended effective MARCH 23, 2020

Crosstown Shuttle Serves the West End and Ute Avenue neighborhoods including attractions such as the Benedict Music Tent.

DIRECT HIGHLANDS SHUTTLE service has suspended effective TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2020

Provides service from Rubey Park to Aspen Highlands Village, the Aspen Recreation Center and Aspen schools via Maroon Creek Road.

Operates from 12/7/19 – 4/12/20
Daily………………………………..6:45 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Continuous departures from Rubey Park and Aspen Highlands Village between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. before and after these hours:
