How to Bike and Ride with RFTA - Video Transcript

How to bike and ride with RFTA. Welcome to bike loading with RFTA, where biking and riding is easy. Every RFTA bus is equipped with bike racks that can hold up to three bikes. First, make sure your bike is ready for loading. Remove any water bottles, bags, or loose items that may fall off while the bus is in motion. Once the bus comes to a complete stop, alert the bus driver that you will be loading your bike. If the bike rack is full, you will have to lock up your bike at the stop, pedal to your destination or wait for the next bus. Approach the front of the bus and lower the bike rack by squeezing the handle and lowering it down. Lift your bike onto the rack and place it in the slot closest to the bus. Make sure your wheels are in the correct wheel slots, which are indicated on the rack. Raise the support arm over the front tire so that it rests at the highest point closest to the frame. E-bikes are also allowed to be loaded on RFTA bike racks. However, they must be under 75 lbs and have a tire width that fits within the slot. You must also be able to load and unload it onto the bike rack by yourself as bus drivers are not able to assist you. Now that your bike is loaded, you may board the bus. Once you arrive at your destination, tell your driver that you will be unloading your bike. Exit the bus. Follow the same steps to unload your bike from the rack. If the rack is empty, please return it to the upright position. Simple as that. Enjoy your ride and thank you for riding RFTA.
