What To
Expect
Due to the nature of our resort
community, our staff service needs fluctuate both with
the season and within seasons. This means that the availability of work shifts can fluctuate through the
course of the winter and summer. Since drivers are
scheduled by seniority, seasonal drivers' hours can be
more affected by these service level fluctuations. While
we anticipate that our full time seasonal drivers will be
scheduled for around forty hours a week, we cannot
guarantee any employee a specific number of work hours
during any time period.

Other Things to Expect
- Morning shifts can start as early as
4:15 am and evening shifts can end as late as 3:30
am.
- RFTA allows all drivers to give away or trade
shifts as long as no driver takes on more than 40
hours on a calendar week and proper procedures are followed.
- There are also extra shifts which may become
available after each four week schedule has been
posted. Any driver is eligible to sign up for
these shifts regardless of seniority.
- Shifts can often be picked up when other drivers
are sick or otherwise unable to come to work if
an employee has a flexible schedule. Flexibility is the key!
- Individuals who accept employment must understand
that they are committing to that entire winter or
summer season. Failure to complete this
commitment could result in becoming ineligible
for rehire in the future.
- Unfortunately, vacation time is not granted
during the winter season due to the high demands
for service.
- Periodically, RFTA has openings for year round
drivers. All full time seasonal drivers are
eligible to apply. RFTA has an excellent benefits
package for year round employees working thirty
or more hours per week.
